Mad Tea Party

ALICE

Milk and honey with rose, carnation and bergamot. (

This is one of the first 5mLs I ever bought, yet it's taken me over a year to review. Heh.
This doesn't change at all on me, from wet to drydown. The throw is average; you can notice a scent, but it doesn't waft away in clouds of aroma. It does last a fairly long time as well. I put it on at noon and could still detect it when I went to bed at 2am.
It's sweet; the milk & honey are soft, creamy & comforting, but not cavity-inducing. The carnation & milk are really the stars in this blend. I actual dislike carnations as flowers, but as a perfume ingredient, it's quite lovely and almost savory & spicy.
The rose is barely detectable and adds a nice bump to the floral notes. If you are not a fan of roses, I promise, you may not even know it's there. I amp up roses a lot, and I didn't realize there were roses in there for the first 3 months I owned this!
The bergamot is also a barely-there component, adding a very soft citrus note to the blend. Even if you don't like citruses, you may not realize it is in there, much like the rose. Bergamot isn't quite as sharp as lemon or lime, so it's not very jarring at all.
This is what I call a BPAL classic.

  5mL

THE CATERPILLAR Heavy incense notes waft lazily through a mix of carnation, jasmine, bergamot, and neroli over a lush bed of dark mosses, iris blossom, deep patchouli and indolent vetiver.
CHESHIRE CAT Grapefruit, red currant, dark musk, Roman chamomile, delphinium, and lavender. (can really pick up on lavender and grapefruit)   x
DRINK ME However, this bottle was not marked `poison,' so Alice ventured to taste it, and finding it very nice, (it had, in fact, a sort of mixed flavour of cherry-tart, custard, pine-apple, roast turkey, toffee, and hot buttered toast,) she very soon finished it off.

BPAL’s Drink Me is not for drinking. Please use common sense, and remember: perfume oils are for external use only.

EAT ME Three white cakes, vanilla, and red and black currants.

  5mL
THE DORMOUSE A dizzying eddy of four teas brushed with light herbs and a breath of peony.
FRUMIOUS BANDERSNATCH Bandersnatch musk, redolent of spicy carnations, wild plums and chrysanthemum.   5mL
JABBERWOCKY An earthy yet buoyant scent: pine, eucalyptus and orange. (highly pungent eycalyptus)
KING OF HEARTS Rosewood and black cherry with white musk, red rose, red musk and a spark of lavender.   5mL
THE LION The dry, glorious warmth of the Savannah. A golden, spiced amber, proud, regal and ferocious. (cinnamony, a bit too dry) review

MAD HATTER A gentlemen's lavender-citron cologne unhinged by the feral pungence of black musk and a paroxysm of pennyroyal. (v. pungent; reminds me a bit of gemini) review

MARCH HARE A twisted teatime tart: apricot and sweet clove. (sharp & sweet! traded mL)
  x
THE MOCK TURTLE'S LESSONS 'Reeling and Writhing, of course, to begin with,' the Mock Turtle replied; 'and then the different branches of Arithmetic-- Ambition, Distraction, Uglification, and Derision.'
MOUSE'S LONG AND SAD TALE Vanilla, two ambers, sweet pea and white sandalwood.
THE POOL OF TEARS A sea of salty tears drowning out Alice's light floral perfume.

THE QUEEN OF HEARTS Lily of the Valley, Calla Lily, stephanotis and a drop of cherry.

THE RED QUEEN Deep mahogany and rich, velvety woods lacquered with sweet, black-red cherries and currant. (cedar/wood note didn't work on me; want to retry) review
TIGER LILY A feisty bouquet of golden, warm, gently honeyed lilies. (lilies smell like funerals or something)
TWEEDLEDEE Ridiculous! Kumquat, white pepper, white tea and orange blossom.
TWEEDLEDUM Absurd! Green mango, fig, patchouli and green tea.

TWO, FIVE & SEVEN A huge bouquet of squished rose petals: Bulgarian rose, Somalian rose, Turkish rose, Damascus rose, red and white rose, tea rose, wine rose, shrub roses, rose, rose, rose…
…and just an itty bitty bit of green grass. (very juicy rose; similar to blood rose... grass note not very evident at all, sadly)
  5mL
THE UNICORN A misty, almost luminous perfume: wispy linden blossoms, white flowers, and a touch of sweet herbs. (sweet, not very floral)

WHITE RABBIT Strong black tea and milk with white pepper, ginger, honey and vanilla, spilled over the crisp scent of clean linen. (very light in the vial)
